Instructions
Some points to note:
- The manual for the French Wii Fit Balance Board is multi-lingual and there is an English section
- The Wii Fit software (on the supplied disc) will use the default language set on your UK Wii console, so if it's set for English the software will play in English
- The main Wii Fit manual is in French, BUT you can download an English language version in Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF format here:

- The Balance Board only needs AA batteries, so there is no need for any kind of mains adaptor
- The international Amazon sites have the same layout as the UK site, so if you are familiar with the UK site then that will help
- As we're in the EU, the Wii Fit package will be covered by the European Warranty, so Nintendo in the UK will honour that if, for example, you have a problem with the Wii Balance Board
- There is no import duty to pay due to the UK, France and Germany being in the EU

Additional Notes:
- You will need an account with Amazon UK before starting this process
- At the time of writing this the site says it takes 1 to 3 weeks to deliver the Wii Fit (presumably it depends on their stock levels)
Important - make sure you don't have Amazon's one-click-ordering turned on!
The ordering process:
Words in single quotes ' ' are French, with the English equivalent in brackets ( )
1) - Click on this link: Wii Fit + Balance Board
- You are now on the Wii Fit page - the price will be within a Euro dollar or two of about EUR 88.78 but it can vary very slightly, for example it may be as much as EUR 88.78 (about £70 - check xe.com for current exchange rates) and there will be some orange ratings stars
- Double check that the price is EUR 88.78 AND that it says 'Expédié et vendu par Amazon.fr' (Ships from and sold by Amazon.fr) -
this is to be certain that you are ordering from Amazon France and not one of the marketplace sellers!
!Very important note!: Sometimes you will go to the above link and see that the price has apparently gone up to EUR 126.00 (or a similar high value) yet a little below that you will see something like: '8 neufs et d'occasion disponibles à partir de EUR 88,78' ('8 New and used available from EUR 88.78 ') - if you click on that link you will see that there are still some for sale from Amazon France at their usual price of EUR 88.78. This appears to happen whenever the main Amazon stock levels are running low, I've also seen it happen at Amazon Germany and Amazon UK. Just be aware of it so that you don't end up spending more than you originally intended to and ALWAYS make sure that the 'vendeur' (seller) is amazon.fr !
- Now select the number that you want to order from the drop-down box (it defaults to one) and click on the orange button to the right marked 'Ajouter au panier' (add to cart) note: if you have had to click on the 'alternate' link (as outlined above in red) then at this stage you won't have an option to select the number that you want to order (it can be done later) so just click on the orange button marked 'Ajouter au panier' (add to cart)
2) - The next screen will show, in a box to the right, that you have a Wii Fit in your basket - check the quantity and price, then click on one of the two orange buttons marked as 'Passer la Commande' (Place the order)
3) - You'll next see the login screen - type in your usual login details for Amazon, ie your email address in the top box, then - IMPORTANT! - click on the button marked 'Vous êtes déjà client et votre mot de passe est' (You are already a customer and your password is) then enter your password in the bottom box
4) - Next you select where to send the item - click on the button marked 'Envoyer a cette adresse' (send this address) above the address you wish to have it delivered to (for reasons of privacy I've erased my address details from the sample screenshot below) - if you have multiple addresses select the button above the appropriate one, alternatively enter a new address in the fields at the bottom of the page (select 'Royaume-Uni' in the pull-down box for United Kingdom) - although if you don't already have an Amazon account I would highly recommend first creating an account at amazon.co.uk and so using this when ordering from amazon.fr as it's far easier and saves having to translate the various address fields
5) - Now you choose your delivery method - Rapide ('3 à 7 jours ouvrés') (3 to 7 days) or Éclair ('1 à 2 jours ouvrés') (1 to 2 days) - naturally the Éclair' service costs a little more!
- Click on the orange button at the bottom marked 'Continuer' (Continue)
6) - Select your default payment details or enter new ones as you like - it's pretty obvious what to do here. Once completed, click on the orange 'Continuer' (Continue) button
Note: if at this point if you needed to enter your payment details manually, you are sometimes taken back to the previous page to re-select the address that the Wii Fit is to be sent to. Just select it and you'll go onto the next section:
7) - Now you're on the confirmation page - check all the details ('Livraison' in the order details box means Delivery) and click on the orange 'Validez votre commande' (confirm your order) button (if you happen to notice that the final price of the Wii Fit is ever so slightly lower than the listed price, then that's because it is - the French equivalent of our VAT is 19.6% and in the UK it is of course 17.5%, so Amazon recalculates the price using 17.5% VAT when you checkout - very generous of them!).
That's it! Now sit back, relax and wait for your Wii Fit to arrive!
Note: I take no responsibility if something goes wrong with this process and you end up ordering the wrong item. This is all correct to the best of my knowledge, but Amazon sometimes changes things around a bit.
